New discovery of precious and rare amphibian species

Dr. Ngo Thai Lan, lecturer of Faculty of Biology, Hanoi Pedagogical University 2, has recently discovered a new feature on reproductive species of precious and rare amphibians.

A Gehyra mutilata species.

Amputated geckos are reptiles belonging to the Gecko family, whose scientific name is Gehyra mutilata Wiegmann , also known as jellies, torn hooks, torn, lizards.

This is a very rare wild reptile in Vietnam, Vinh Phuc is one of the small areas of the dead-end geckos.

After more than 2 years of practical research and experiment, 147 adult amphibian individuals collected in Phuc Yen town, of which 76 males and 71 females, Dr. Ngo Thai Lan found out The gonad of the gecko is male, the gecko development cycle of the gecko is female, determining the period of birth of the newborn in the year, the breeding season of the gecko is dead.

Since then, Dr. Ngo Thai Lan has determined the period of occurrence of many amputated geckos, facilitating the conservation and exploitation of this rare animal source.

In traditional medicine, amputated geckos are considered a medicine to cure many diseases. Therefore, amputated geckos are hunted and are in danger of extinction.

Previously, there were many researches on gecko but the study only stopped at the study of the distribution and classification characteristics, there is no work on reproductive characteristics of this species.
