A windmill can provide enough electricity for a 200km-long train.

This is a cooperation project between the Dutch National Railway Company and Eneco Electric Company. With the aim of using wind power to operate the entire passenger rail system in this country in early 1018.

However, the project was officially completed in early January 2017, 1 year earlier than expected.

Every hour of operation, a windmill can provide enough electricity for a 200km-long train.

On average, Dutch trams serve about 600,000 passengers a day. Many major cities in the world, such as Seattle or Santiago, are also planning to build future wind-powered tram systems.
