Charles Osborne began to hiccup in 1922 after being hit by a castrated pig, 68 years later, he was removed and listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the world's longest hiccup.

So where did hiccups come from?

Hiccups are sudden contractions of involuntary contractions of the diaphragm and are repeated.

Doctors point out that hiccups occur when there is a stimulation of stomach tightness such as swallowing air or eating too quickly.

Others believe that hiccups are caused by intense emotions or reactions to such emotions as: laughing, sobbing, anxiety and excitement.

Hiccups are sudden, uncontrolled and intermittent spasms of repeated diaphragm repeatedly, thought to form during evolution.
