Vietnam coast is very strong erosion!

Vietnam is at risk of facing the phenomenon of coastline being eroded with strong intensity, the sea level is rising higher and higher. Ca Mau's environmental researchers have warned that the Ca Mau cape, which is still considered to have the fastest speed of encroaching into the sea (with up to 100m) - has been showing signs of strong erosion.

Picture 1 of Vietnam coast is very strong erosion! However, this is not a particular phenomenon. Most of our coastline is being eroded with the intensity of several meters to tens of meters per year and tends to increase strongly in a recent decade.

In Doi Duong tourist area in Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan province, many years of continuous erosion have occurred with a rate of about 10m / year.

The rising trend of sea level in recent years has also contributed to a stronger landslide. At Vung Tau station, scientists calculated that, in the past 50 years, sea level has risen 160 mm. This is an important reason why many places in HCMC are flooded during high tide, making the level of coastal erosion stronger (before 1990 almost no occurrence of this phenomenon). This trend will continue with a wider range in the coming years.

According to the study, coastal lowland areas with elevations below 10 meters above sea level in Vietnam have over 41.4 million people living.
