Storm No. 1 entered the Central Coast

This afternoon, the tropical depression in the South East Sea has become strong into a storm, the No. 1 storm (international name is Neoguri). Typhoon is strong at level 8 and according to the ability when approaching the central coast will be stronger.

The central hydro-meteorological center said that at night and tomorrow, the storm No. 1 will move west-northwest with a speed of 10-15 km per hour. By early afternoon tomorrow, the storm center in the north of the Spratly Islands and has a stronger ability.

After that, the storm changed slightly in the direction of travel, between the Northwestern Northwest and the Northwest, still maintaining the speed of 10-15 km per hour. At 13:00 on April 17, the storm center was about 250 km east of the provinces of Quang Ngai - Khanh Hoa.

The storm has affected the fishing grounds of Vietnamese fishermen. At present, in the South East Sea (including the northern part of the Spratly Islands), the wind gusts above level 8, the sea is very strong. From tomorrow night, the waters of the provinces from Quang Ngai to Khanh Hoa will gradually increase to level 7-8, tugging over level 8.

Because the storm is still quite far from the mainland, the landing position has not been determined. However, according to the distant forecast of TSR station under University of London, the storm is less likely to land in the Central region. By the evening of April 17, when about 250 km from the Central Coast, the storm would follow the coast and shop near China's Hainan island.

Compared to the law, this year's number 1 storm comes early. In 2007, the first storm appeared and landed in Quang Ninh province on the afternoon of July 6. But before that, the number 1 storm in 2006 (international name Chanchu) came early, around mid-May. The storm killed more than 240 people, shaking both the meteorological, rescue and aquatic industries.

Yesterday, the Office of the Central Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Control issued a telegraph asking coastal provinces from Da Nang to Ca Mau to inform boat owners of the location and development of the sea with bad weather to actively exit or not enter the dangerous area. The provinces need to closely manage the sailing of vessels, maintain the forces and means of rescue and rescue to be ready to respond when required.
