Representatives of agencies will exchange, share experiences, unify awareness and make plans for cooperation and exchange of information more effectively among the parties on the issue of controlling and minimizing the practice of illegal trading. Wild species in the border area.

' Illegal trade in wild species is becoming a challenge in the region, so countries must cooperate more closely', said Dr. Ha Cong Tuan, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Forestry.

Vietnam and Cambodia have all made efforts to prevent illegal trade of wild species in the border areas of each country, but so far cooperation between the two countries is still limited.

Currently the most important cooperation mechanism known in the region is the Southeast Asian countries' law enforcement network for wildlife (ASEAN WEN). The network consists of 10 ASEAN members, including Vietnam and Cambodia, with the objective of combating illegal trade and exploitation of wildlife.
