Vietnam is eager to prepare

The festival "Big change of small action" took place in Thua Thien - Hue, Hoi An turned off the Earth Hour to enjoy the moon in the old town, the Ha Long people went on bicycles to respond; HCM City is the main point of Vietnam of this global event.

Another day before the time of the Earth Hour off (March 27), 20 provinces are actively preparing for this event, according to the announcement of the International Fund for Nature. In addition to turning off lights in many public places, cities and provinces also have their own programs bearing the identity of each locality.

In Ho Chi Minh City, tomorrow there will be a series of massive activities everywhere. The cluster of universities held a launching ceremony, on Sunday. Van Lang University exhibits 30 environmental paintings. Thousands of people gathered in front of the city theater area and the city People's Committee headquarters to witness the moment of turning off lights, lighting candles, interacting with Earth Hour ambassadors.

Hanoi Capital organizes an event night at Intercontinental Hotel, with the participation of leaders of the City People's Committee, departments and international organizations. 80 artists from 16 countries perform at the Hanoi Sound Festival called "Green Space", also support Earth Hour with environmental messages, games, and plays.

Also responding to global environmental events with art programs, Hoi An Ancient Town turned off all electric lights and replaced them with lanterns, along with the "Magical Moon Street" festival. On the night of March 27, the 12th day of the lunar month, the moon is about to prepare for the full moon.

Meanwhile, Da Nang jubilantly displays fireworks in the international fireworks competition (March 27-28); Thua Thien - Hue organized the masquerade party with the message "Big change in big action", composing pictures. Dong Nai province turns off decorative lights at the provincial symbol and public places such as buildings, public play areas, outdoor billboards . for an hour from 20:30 to 21:30 tomorrow night.

The people of Binh Dinh will enjoy a clip calling for everyone to respond to the program to turn off the electricity saving lights.

Australian Agency for International Development (AusAid) cooperates with Vietnam International Fund for Nature Protection (WWFVN), in support of Earth Hour - a global campaign calling for turning off lights within one hour. Lake at 20:30 on March 27, to raise public awareness about climate change.

Mr. Kerry Groves, consultant for AusAid in Vietnam, said climate change is AusAid's strategic priority in the S-shaped country.

"In the next 5 years, we plan to focus on the Mekong sub-region, which is expected to be most heavily affected by climate change ," Groves said.

The effects of climate change are already visible in Vietnam, where extreme weather events are occurring more frequently and with stronger intensity. Many recent studies, including WWF's Pressure on Large Cities report, have highlighted the losses in Vietnam caused by climate change. Studies have also shown the need for quick action to adapt to environmental changes and mitigate future impacts.
