Vietnam - Laos cooperates to prevent bird flu
On August 24, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Health of Vietnam signed a memorandum of understanding with the Lao Ministry of Health on cooperation in preventing bird flu and emerging infectious diseases.

Accordingly, the Vietnamese side will help Laos train and develop human resources, cooperate in preventive medicine and border medical quarantine.
The two sides actively exchanged information and supervised samples of suspected flu patients. At the same time, develop a plan for prevention of human influenza pandemic and organize preventive rehearsals if a pandemic occurs.
Vietnam's Ministry of Health pledged to support Lao technical and anti-influenza equipment when pandemics occurred in Laos .
