Vietnam will have a global payment card
On 23 November 2006, Gemalto Company cooperated with FPT Information System Company to advise Vietnamese banks on EMV cards and the trend of switching from other payment cards.
EMV is a smart card and the conversion of smart cards to smart cards will take place worldwide and requires a common set of standards. Europay, MasterCard, and Visa have cooperated together to create a common set of standards, and the first name is always the first letter of organizations ie EMV.

The purpose of this specification is to provide a common standard to create compatibility on a global payment system using chip cards.
This type of chip card reduces almost the maximum fraud, it is difficult to steal data. In addition, the ability to integrate many value-added services, many applications on cards are also new features.
According to Gemalto, some of Vietnam's banks have initially moved to EMV cards although card security is still very stable.
