Vietnamese female doctoralists reached the top 100 Asian scientists

Associate Professor Le Thi Kim Phung is one of the top three agricultural scientists in Asia voted by Asian Scientist.

Ms. Le Thi Kim Phung (born in 1975) is currently the Deputy Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology.

With research focused on creating biofuels from agricultural waste such as rubber seed oil, coffee beans or fruits, she won the ASEAN - US science award in 2016, thereby being omitted. The famous scientific journal Asian Scientist voted as one of the top 100 scientists in Asia.

Especially, Mrs. Phung appeared in the list of leading scientists in the field of agricultural science. In addition to representatives of Vietnam, two other scientists from Indonesia and China also contributed to this list.

Asian Scientist is Singapore's prestigious scientific magazine. This is the second year the magazine has published a list of the top 100 Asian scientists. In 2016, Vietnam had two female scientists who were included in this ranking: Dr. Tran Lien Ha Phuong (International University - Ho Chi Minh City National University) and Dr. Dang Thi Oanh (University of Information Technology - Thai Nguyen university).
