Vietnamese scientists discovered new geckos

Researchers from the Institute of Ecology and Biological Resources (Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology) and colleagues at Cologne Zoo (Germany) have discovered a new species of geckos at the limestone caves of the area. These are way-a-ko-style geckos, mature sizes of up to 90 mm. This gecko has dark brown backs with many white spots, dark brown spots around the head and neck, and the back of the neck has a U-shaped yellow stripe, the back has 6 light-colored streaks but it is unclear, the tail has 5 –6 white stripes running across, orange eyes, pupils lying along.

It is known that this is the fourth recorded gecko in Laos.
