On the morning of October 26, Airlios displayed the prototype of the first personal flying motorbike in Southeast Asia at the Vietnam Motor Show 2022. Airlios is a Vietnamese startup headquartered in Hanoi, offering 4 flying motorbike models, including Air One, Pegasus, Minotaur and Custom , with converted prices of 2 billion VND, 2.2 billion VND, 2.46 billion VND and 2.46 billion VND respectively. All are manufactured in Vietnam.

The prototype on display is a prototype of Pegasus, which has been tested for more than 100 hours and traveled a total distance of 1,000 km. During the testing process, the prototype only had basic components, and the outer body was hastily completed for display at the exhibition, not the official design.

According to Airlios, the company has tested the prototype in a "safe area" in Hanoi and some provinces in the West. It is expected that the commercial product will be sold on the market in 2027 in the form of outright sale or providing transportation services.

The device can be controlled in two ways . One is direct control and the other is autonomous . With direct control, the user must undergo Airlios' training course. Meanwhile, with autonomous control, the user selects the destination and the flying motorcycle will operate itself.

The Airlios flying motorcycle is 1.9 m long, 1.15 m high and has a wingspan of 2 m. It weighs 220 kg and has a maximum take-off weight of 320 kg, which means a payload of 100 kg. The flying motorcycle has only one seat. In addition, the maximum flight distance is 33 km, the maximum speed is 100 km/h and the maximum flight time (with a payload of 100 kg) is 20 minutes. The flight altitude is under 120 m. The power source comes from lithium-ion batteries and a backup power source with a dual battery setup.

The materials include aluminum alloy and carbon fiber. The propellers are made of wood, coated with carbon on the outside. The control method includes a handle and a touch screen. The device is operated by 8 brushless motors. In case any of the motors fails or breaks down, the flying motorcycle will still operate normally, then automatically find a landing place as close and quickly as possible.
