Walrus migrated massively from the North Pole to the United States
According to NOAA experts, it is the rapid melting of snow in the Arctic that causes 35,000 walrus individuals to migrate.

ABC News recently reported that because of the melting of snow and ice , it is impossible to find a place to rest in the Arctic Sea, so tens of thousands of walruses have moved to a beach in northwest Alaska, USA.
According to NOAA's National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration estimates, about 35,000 walruses have appeared in the village of Inupiat Eskimo, Point Lay, Alaska (USA). Point Lay is about 480km southwest of Barrow and 1,120km northwest of Anchrage.
Experts are quite surprised about this sudden move. Andrea Medeiros, a spokesman for the US Department of Wildlife and Fish, said the first hippos migrated here were discovered on September 13.
The Energy Administration observers also discovered 50 dead bodies on the beach and said it was possible that these individuals had died due to stampede.
According to experts, this migration of walrus signals massive thawing in the summer in Arctic waters due to hotter temperatures and climates.
Pacific walruses reside in the Bering coast in the winter. This is also the time when the walrus individuals give birth and use ice as a fulcrum to dive to find food for their children.
The walrus is known to be one of the timid creatures, just the appearance of the polar bear is enough to cause every group of walruses to scatter. More than 130 walrus individuals were found after trampling on each other at Icy, Alaska cape in September 2009.
Unlike seals, walruses cannot swim for long periods of time, but need to rest in between. They often use their ivory to cling to icebergs to climb.
As the temperature rises in the summer, the sea ice is mostly melted. This makes the walrus individuals become chaotic because they cannot find shelter.
In recent years, the sea ice in the north of the continental shelf has been withdrawn quite a lot, the depth is only about 3.2 km now, the walrus cannot dive to the bottom.
Previously, in 2007, researchers also discovered a large number of walruses in the Chukchi Sea, USA. They also returned here in 2009. By 2011, the estimated number of individuals statistically studied along the coast near Point Lay is around 30,000.
Margaret Williams, executive director of the Arctic Wildlife Program at the Wildlife Fund, said: "The large-scale migration of walrus is a significant sign when environmental conditions are changing dramatically. Tell us - more specifically, the sea ice phenomenon is rising rapidly, the walrus, the polar bear has been alerting us about the Arctic environment is changing rapidly, the world needs to act now to have it can solve and limit the climate change, warming this Earth ".
