Usually the distance between the earth and the moon is about 384 thousand kilometers, this occurrence, the moon is 358,087 km from the earth, farther than the March 19 appearance - the distance was 356,577 km.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Phuong, Vietnam Astronomical Society - said that "super moon" is a popular way of referring to the phenomenon of the moon approaching the earth most.

Also according to Mr. Phuong, it is a normal phenomenon, but in a year of appearing two times, the super moon coincides with the full moon, which is rare.

Mr. Phuong also affirmed that "super moon" is not related to earthquakes, tsunamis or volcanoes as many predictions , because the attraction of the moon is very small so it does not affect the stratigraphic structure of the earth, does not cause the above disasters, but only causes tidal phenomena.

On March 19, Vietnam had the opportunity to see "super moon", young people in Hanoi and Nha Trang organized into a group to admire this phenomenon.
