Website of ASUStek circuit board firm is attacked by hackers
The motherboard manufacturer ASUStek's website has been hacked by hackers and uploaded malicious code to exploit a serious vulnerability that has just appeared in Windows - the .ANI vulnerability.
The exploit code is in an HTML element of the front page on the ASUStek website in Taiwan, which has the function of enabling the system to download malicious code from a remote server. However, at the end of this weekend, the malicious code server stopped working, which helped to reduce the risk of spread.
However, security experts believe that hackers can easily transfer the download address of malicious code to another server so that the spread of the virus continues. Meanwhile, ASUStek quickly removed the malicious code yesterday (April 8) to prevent the possibility of infecting its customers.
It is known that ASUStek is a "giant" of motherboard manufacturing, video card, CD-ROM drive and many other computer components. Currently, the company's representative has not officially confirmed the intrusion and said its websites in other regions have no signs of influence.
