Three to four meters long creature was discovered on Redhead Beach last week. The location is located about 150km north of Sydney, Australia. The dead whale attracted the attention of many scientists. This is an extremely rare case because whales live in deep waters far away, Huffingtonpost reported.

"In a very long time, people don't have much information about them and every time we find some creature dying on the beach, that's a treasure of science," Shona Lorigan, vice president The Australian Mammal Rescue and Research Organization (ORRCA) told Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

ORRCA said volunteers are planning to remove the fish head and send it to the Australian Museum in Sydney. The team here will use X-ray scanners as well as DNA testing methods to directly study and confirm the species of this whale.

The cause of the whale's death is still unclear.
