According to AFP, the jellyfish is shaped like a giant drop of water discovered by a family in the state of Tasmania, southern Australia, about 1.5 m in size.
Lisa Gershwin, a scientist with the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO), said the jellyfish was previously seen, but no large jellyfish drifted off the coast. Received so far.
According to Lisa, the jellyfish is known but not yet classified and named. It has relatives with lion's mane jellyfish, the largest jellyfish in the world.
CSIRO researchers say they have collected enough images and specimens to begin analyzing and classifying and naming new species. Even so, experts are still unclear about the source of this jellyfish's food source, habitat and reproduction.
