What can we recycle?
People buy millions of plastic bottles every minute and at least a quarter of them are not recycled.
The most recent EPA investigation (US Environmental Protection Agency) on US waste shows that up to 262.4 million tons of garbage is collected in 2015, this amount is equivalent to 40 Pyramids. Giza, and each person discharges 2.5kg of garbage every day.
We can only recycle about a quarter of what we emit, but the cost is getting higher, making some cities ignore the recycling problem. Even in places where efforts are made to limit waste, it is impossible to recycle all recyclable things. So how many things are actually recycled and reused?
We can only recycle about a quarter of what we emit.
Plastic cups and plates: 0%
Most eating utensils are made of polystyrene plastic. It is so bulky that no pickup can be collected. We only use 24% of this plastic to convert its heat into electricity, not to create new items.
Disposable diapers: 0%
The baby's butt looks very cute, but the diapers have an impact on the environment. We can recycle by burning to create energy, but dirty diapers contain a variety of materials such as wood pulp, plastic . and affect the cost of recycling. So consider using cloth diapers so your child has a cleaner planet.
Water and milk bottles: 30%
People buy millions of plastic bottles every minute and at least a quarter never get recycled. Fish, mussels, and even sea salt may contain microplastic resins.
Tire: 40%
Tire recycling has increased ninefold since 1970, partly due to the demand for asphalt and soft playground for children. Piles of used wheels can contaminate the water, increase the risk of spreading diseases, insects, and even explode.
Aluminum cans and foil: 55%
About 70% of cans are made from recycled materials, and nearly 75% of aluminum is still reused today.
Notice: 72%
People reuse or produce energy from most old newspapers. And, unlike plastic junk, these products are not among the most worrying issues when paper volume has fallen by more than half since 2000.
