Where people live with the scene of dark sky in the middle of the day

For the people of the town of Verkhoyansk in Siberia, it was not too strange to wake up during the day and find the dark sky.

Normally, at this time of year, the dawn will appear at 4am in Verkhoyansk. But on August 9 last, residents of this land waited until 8 o'clock but still did not see any sign of light. They only saw a strange strip of light yellow across the gloomy sky like at night.

The people of Verkhoyansk have been living with floods since last year.

Fortunately, this mysterious phenomenon did not frighten them, because the Verkhoyansk residents and the Yakutia region had experienced the same incident in July last year. Some people even wondered if this phenomenon would become a tradition in the region: ' Will we suffer from the sun in July or August? That's weird '.

Although there are no official conclusions about the cause of this phenomenon, weather experts say this is closely related to intense forest fires across Siberia before. The massive carbon monoxide released in the fire may have formed dense 'clouds' that obscure the sunlight.

Residents in Verkhoyansk and other areas of Yakutia also saw this scene.

Yevgeny Tishkovets from the Weather Forecast Center Fobos said: 'This situation is quite similar to the process of clouds creating rain. The cloud cover is dense with smoke and ash from the fire, as well as the amount of condensed water to support the phenomenon of sun obstruction. However, this is still a preliminary conclusion, we still need more detailed analysis. '

The Fobos weather forecast center has recorded extremely high carbon monoxide concentrations in this area - 7.119mg / m³, while the permitted content is only at 5mg / m³. However, this number is still not enough to help them create a virtual phenomenon of "total solar eclipse" .
