Who is Molière who Google Doodle honored?
Molière is the world's most famous playwright and perhaps the greatest artist in French drama history. Today (February 10), Google Doodle honors him.
Who is Moliere?
Jean-Baptiste Poquelin is Moliere's real name . He was born on 15/1/1622. Not only a playwright, an outstanding comedian, Molière is also remembered as a poet who created a classic drama with many classic satirical comedies such as L'Avare ou l 'École du mensonge (Lao tuathe) and Le Bourgeois gentilhomme (Head of study author made it up) .
The great comedian Molière was honored by Google Doodle.
In plays, he blended ballet, music and comedy into a new genre to social critique, blatantly abusing the French society's bad habits.
On this day in 1673, Molière premiered his last play, Le Malade Imaginaire (Fantasy Disease), quipping the "charlatan". Moliere starred Argan, a strict father, trying to persuade his daughter to give up her true love and marry the doctor's son, to save medical bills.
During a play rehearsal on February 17, 1973, he suddenly fell ill and died three hours later.
Fix bad habits by laughing
Born in Paris in 1622 as Jean-Baptiste Poquelin, Molière was the son of a furniture manufacturer and successfully seated the court. Refusing his father's request to take over the family business, he took the stage name Molière and began acting and writing plays in the 1640s.
Many of his works were banned because of the strong satire of the power of powerful people. Tartuffe was first performed in 1664 and was immediately banned by the court of Louis XIV. Five years later, the ban was lifted and Tartuffe was considered one of his masterpieces.
Molière's spirit still exists today and inspires many generations of comedians. Many people are continuing his work, criticizing social vices with humorous satirical works.
As Molière wrote in Tartuffe's preface, the task of comedy is to correct human mistakes by laughing at them.
