Why do passengers have to wait long before leaving the plane?

Even if you hear the captain welcoming you to the destination at the end of the flight, you still have to stay on the plane for a while longer.

The time from when the plane landed until the passenger actually stepped out of the plane could be one of the most annoying things in the flight, especially for those with a tight time. Many people may not understand the cause of this situation.

The flight attendants didn't open the plane door erratically. There is a working team at both sides of the passenger compartment to manage the transfer of passengers to the plane and into the airport terminal.

After landing, the plane took a while to reach the right gate. Next the captain will reduce the engine down, then turn off the anti-collision light - the red flashing light outside the aircraft, to inform ground personnel that it is safe to access.

At that time on the plane, the passenger may have stood up, took the luggage in the storage compartment above. They wait to get out of their seats and line up in the aisle. This is when everyone thought that they should have left the plane.

Meanwhile outside, the airport staff were taking bridges and attaching them to the airplane door. When the bridge connecting the aircraft door and the station is ready, ground personnel will open the plane door, or signal to the crew that it is safe to open and exit the plane.

However, many other problems can occur, causing this process to be delayed. For example, the problem with the mechanical parts of the bridge, or take a few minutes to properly bridge the plane door. Many aircraft can land at the same time, making ground crews unable to serve them all.

Sometimes, delays are simply due to human factors. Such as the staff at the gate did not realize that the plane landed. That also makes the process more time consuming.
