Wi-Fi card coming soon for digital cameras

Next spring, a company called Eye-Fi will launch a Secure Digital card that incorporates a Wi-Fi chip for digital camera products, enabling them to automatically send photos to PC. or photo sharing website.

Eye-Fi is discussing with some websites to allow uploading images directly from the camera (containing the above type of memory card) to the website. The new card will cost about $ 100 and have a capacity of about 2GB.

Eye-Fi SD card is designed to fit standard SD cards. The card contains a sufficient amount of space for Wi-Fi chips. The network functions of the card will close itself when no image is transferred to save battery power.

Since wireless functionality is integrated directly into the card, network functions will not conflict with the camera. Therefore, users can safely take photos without having to worry about Wi-Fi chips.
