Ambo Ella, a spokesman for Sidendeng Rappang district, Sulawesi province on January 30, said the attack was too sudden, about 10 when he entered Toddang Pulu village.

According to Ella, a 16-year-old boy was bitten by fierce monkeys during the January 28 attack and is being treated at the hospital. He adds that monkeys come from nearby forests protected by a local tribe.

It is unclear why the monkeys are always afraid of humans and hurriedly run away whenever they hear people again suddenly rebelling like that.

Local authorities are investigating the cause of the incident, while many people in the village are showing great concern and fear.
