Yahoo Messenger vulnerability has not been patched yet

Yahoo's Yahoo Messenger instant messaging application has once again been exposed to attacks, and this time it's even bigger because Yahoo's experts haven't patched the vulnerability yet.

Rajesh Sethumadhavan, a Yahoo researcher, discovered a problem with the address book on YM because any malicious address added to the application's list could be destroyed. That application program in seconds.

If you suspect you have dangerous addresses in the address book, you can follow these steps: log in to Yahoo Messenger, go to the address field and place your cursor on the items listed.

If there is any malicious address in your address book, your instant messenger will be destroyed and you will not have the opportunity to recover the information. Of course, this type of attack can be done very easily: sending a dangerous address to the user and then tricking him into placing the mouse pointer on that address.

According to a recent report, if you take advantage of this flaw, an attacker will be able to run applications with privileges like those of those programs.

This is not the first time YM has been weak when attacked but recently, instant messaging applications are always affected by serious errors or not.

For example, Trillian, a multi-functional instant messaging application, allows users to link to different networks at the same time, including Jabber, Yahoo Messenger, MSN and AIM servers. However, security companies have discovered some of Trillian's security gaps that could harm users' computers and make them very vulnerable to attack.

Not long ago, a report said Yahoo Messenger had become a dangerous program when hackers were trying to make phishing attacks (online phishing) using a chat application.

Today, a new vulnerability confirms the report has been posted on the Internet. What is the truth behind these reports? The answer is entirely up to you to choose.
