A fish with a strange shape has been caught by fishermen of Quynh Lap commune, Quynh Luu district, Nghe An yesterday, on April 25, attracting hundreds of curious people to watch.

The strange fish weighed 30.5kg, about 80cm long, was caught by a fisherman in Quynh Lap commune in the East Sea and brought to shore yesterday. The fish has a very strange shape, its flattened, round, short tail, no scales; gills, eyes, mouth are very small but the fins on the back and abdomen are quite long (about 30cm).

After catching a strange fish, the fishermen were so frightened that they sold it to a small trader in Quynh Phuong commune. The fish was then sold to Ms. Nguyen Thi Khanh in Quynh Phuong commune, Quynh Luu district, for VND 1 million.

When Ms. Khanh brought the fish to the village, hundreds of people were curious to hear that the news came. Many fishermen said that although they lived in the sea from a young age, they have never seen this strange fish ever.

Currently, this fish is still preserved by Ms. Khanh in frozen storage.
