"Monster" flounder weighs more than 100kg
Erik Axner is on a fishing trip with friends in the waters off Norway 's Lofoten Islands, catching the flounder " monster " - the world's largest flatfish.
The 24-year-old Swedish man struggled for more than 1 hour to overpower the "giant" fish.
Because the flounder possesses too large a size, Axner cannot take the fish out of the water's eyes to take pictures. Therefore, he had to use a rope to fasten the fish tail into the side of the boat and jump into the cold water to save a memorable moment.
Axner said: " I want to take some pictures with the fish and the only way to do it without harming it is to jump into the water. Under the water with such a giant fish comes like that is a cover. "It has a strong influence. It gives you the respect for a terrible trophy. After taking some photos, we released the fish back to the wild."
Before dropping the flounder " monster ", Mr. Axner did not forget to weigh, measure its size. The fish was eventually determined to have a length of 2.13 meters and weighs 101.6 kg, which means it can supply about 250 pieces of fillet meat.
Since a seafood restaurant usually charges about 38 USD for a main dish made from halibut, the fish that Mr. Axner can catch can be worth up to more than 9,200 USD.
