According to Xinhua, China's Ministry of Health has issued a ban on the sale of Nassariidae, a small mud snail that has caused some fainting and vomiting to some people after eating them.

According to experts' reports, this type of snail mainly lives in the coastal areas of southeastern Zhejiang, Fujian and Guangdong provinces. After eating them, people will be poisoned within 3:55 hours.

In addition, according to a health official, the country said: " Summer and autumn are high-risk times for Nassariidae to cause food poisoning and the Ministry of Health has advised companies not to buy, processing or selling snails, and consumers should raise awareness to avoid similar incidents'.

The Ministry of Health also added that the toxins on this snail are all derived from the poison tetrodotoxin, a toxin commonly found in puffer fish and no antidote yet.
