Goodbye to the upcoming cosmetics and acne vaccines

Soon, we will be able to hope for acne-free skin, no foundation cream or concealer when new vaccines treat root acne, which has been studied in the United States.

Each year, more than 50 million Americans treat acne-related diseases. This number is higher than the population of Australia or Canada. More surprisingly, this rate of acne in adult women increases every year.

According to Joshua Zeichner, an acne specialist and director of dermatology and cosmetic research at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York: "Very few people know what causes acne. Understand that, the potential under our skin contains bacteria and they break up the epidermis that emerges into acne ".

Treating acne is a difficult problem.

The fact is that not knowing the exact cause of acne explains why there is no cure for the common acne problem today, especially for people with chronic acne.

To address this situation, inside a laboratory at the University of California, San Diego, a team of scientists is working to find a way to remove acne. But developing a vaccine against acne has a rather special problem.

"Acne is caused in part by P.acnes bacteria , the type of bacteria that occurs throughout your life. However, actual P.acnes bacteria have a good impact on humans so we cannot remove them completely, " said Eric C Huang, project leader.

"We have now found an antibody to a toxic protein found in P. acnes bacteria - this protein which always clings to the skin causing inflammation and thus leads to acne" - he replied excitedly. This means that vaccines can prevent negative effects, causing acne of P. acnes without destroying the bacteria.

New vaccine is a ray of hope for all women.

So far, the project has applied a skin biopsy method on the samples collected by researchers from acne patients. Huang said: "The next step is a clinical trial on patients. The first phase of these tests, which can last from one to two years, will be carried out as soon as possible."

And soon, we will be able to hope for clean, acne-free skin without foundation or concealer.
