The two drugs are produced by Bristol - Myers Squibb of the United States. Its basic pharmacology is to both destroy the protective layer of cancer cells and promote the body's immune system, thereby destroying cancer cells.

Approximately 500 cancer patients have used these two drugs during the initial stage of testing. These people have all kinds of cancers such as non-small cell lung cancer, melanoma skin cancer or kidney cancer. Conventional clinical treatments do not work for them.

AFP firm on June 2 said that those people after taking these two cancer drugs had a clear effect, namely that the tumors were shrunk.

BMS-936558 and BMS-936559 are both protein blockers. BMS-936558 can block protein PD-1, while BMS-936559 can block PD-L1 protein .

Previous studies have shown that the two drugs can activate T cells in the immune system, making the infected cells able to restore the "anti-enemy" effect.

The cancer patients after using BMS-936558 had positive signals, the tumors were shrunk.

The rate of effective treatment in non-small cell lung cancers, melanoma skin cancer and kidney cancer is 18%, 28% and 27%, respectively, while in the group of BMS users. -936559 this ratio is 10%, 17% and 12%.

The proportion of those who do not adapt to the two drugs is 5% and 9%.

Professor Susan Topalian of Johns Hopkins University said that the two drugs are constantly showing positive effects, so they will promote new clinical studies.
