'Red Dot' fly trap banana
The design award for the 2013 Red Dot has been given an interesting idea: the special trash bin with lids is designed to "lure" flies and then "eat" them.
Fruit flies are actually an innocuous species, however, their ability to reproduce fast can cause many nuisances in the kitchen.

The flycatcher, designed by Chang Shih-hsun and Hung Jui-yuan, is quite simple. The small slits on the underside of the lid help the smell of waste escape to attract flies; and the slots on the top allow the fly to fly in but can not escape.
Once in the bin, they will die of food depletion. A transparent plastic window helps you see if they are still alive before you leave the bin.
This idea won the first prize in the 2013 Red Dot design competition. Although the open lid is a disadvantage because it will make the smell fly out, but Fly Catcher is also a good idea for the small trash in the room or on the kitchen table.
A common way to catch a fruit fly is to mix fruit juice or wine with water and detergent and pour it into a glass. Sweetness will attract flies, and they will be trapped in soap water.
It is not clear whether a fly catching cap is more effective, but perhaps a glass of fruit juice has a more humane effect than letting the flies starve in the trash.
