Stunned with extremely rare giant banana varieties

Images of a giant banana species in Papua New Guinea have caused a stir in the strong community.

According to scientists, the giant banana variety in Papua New Guinea has the scientific name Musa ingens and can reach maximum height up to 18m. This banana variety usually grows in high mountains. Although the fruit is very big, their taste is not good and there are many seeds inside like other wild bananas.

Musa ingens are very impressive in size, but its greatest value is its ability to adapt to cold weather conditions. Scientists hope that the gene for this banana can produce new varieties of bananas with better fruit and cold tolerance. Local people on the island of Papua New Guinea often use banana leaves Musa ingens to make roofs because they are very big and thick.

These giant banana trees are called Musa ingens which means giant bananas . They are the largest of the bananas and are considered to be typical of the Papua New Guinea rainforest. With an average height of 15m, the perimeter of a giant banana tree can reach 2m.

Their leaves are also classified as "terrible" with a length of 5m, width of 1m. When giant bananas ripen, each of their chambers is not only big, large and very heavy. It is estimated that each chamber weighs about 60kg, the banana has a length of about 18cm and a width of 3 - 4cm.

Today, giant bananas remain very little in nature because their seeds are hard to find. Moreover, the seed germination process can be up to 1 year or more. So giant bananas are very rare and scoured by many plant lovers around the world.
