100 million people could die before 2030 due to climate change

About 100 million people will die and global gross domestic product (GDP) will decrease by 3.2% by 2030 if the world does not overcome the problems from climate change.

The warning is in a report published Sept. 26 after Spain's DARA International Humanitarian Organization calculated the impact of climate change on economy and people in 184 countries since 2010 - 2030, according to Reuters news agency.

The report estimates that 5 million people die each year from air pollution, hunger and disease, which is a consequence of the sea and climate and the economy emits a lot of carbon. This number will increase to 6 million people / year by 2030 if economies continue to use fossil fuels.

Climate change has many consequences for people

'The climate change crisis is estimated to take the lives of 100 million people from now until the end of the next decade , ' the report said. There will be more than 90 million people in developing countries.

The report also points out that the impact of climate change reduces 1.6% of world GDP each year, equivalent to US $ 1,200 billion. And the number of losses could increase by 3.2% by 2030 if global temperatures rise.

British economist Nicholas Stern told Reuters or the world needs to invest about 2% of global GDP in order to limit, prevent and adapt to the sea for climate.

In 2010, nearly 200 countries pledged to work together to curb the global average temperature rise below 2 degrees Celsius to avoid the dangerous effects of climate change.

However, climate scientists warn that the opportunity to limit global temperature rise below 2 degrees C is lower as global greenhouse gas emissions continue to increase due to burning fossil fuels.
