The 8-year-old Malaysian boy can now play with his peers thanks to his artificial hand made of 3D printing technology.

Artificial hands were created using a 3D printer for 20 hours, using environmentally friendly plastics called polylactic acid (PLA) , priced at RM100 (Malaysian Ringgit), about 600,000 VND.

This is the gift Muhammad Muqri Mifzal Rhemi Rizal received Jan. 31 from Sujana Mohd Rejab, a 47-year-old English teacher. Muhammad Muqri had no fingers on his left hand.

"Daily activities like putting on a shirt or shoelace will be easier, and I'm very happy with this new hand, and I'm sure no one will look at me strangely because I do not have fingers. On the other hand, " said the second-grader.

Father Rhemi Rizal, 40, said his son had returned home and complained about the alienation of his friends at school because of the difference. He and his family members encourage each other when they feel bored.

"We are very touched and grateful that you get this new hand, and now it can do just about anything else," Straits Times quoted him as saying. Fingers will move together as the boy moves his palm.

Sujana has donated an artificial hand to a 7-year-old girl. He agreed to help Muhammad Muqri after being contacted by his parents.
