70 software has a security error

Security firm Secunia said it has discovered a deadly security flaw in an Internet Explorer ActiveX that could be exploited by hackers to remotely execute malicious code on a system that makes a mistake.

In order to exploit this security vulnerability, a hacker needs to create a specially crafted website and trick users into accessing the web. If successfully exploited, hackers can take full control of the target system.

The newly discovered ActiveX bug is the product of online Media Technologies, a company that develops .NET and ActiveX applications. Online Media Technologies customers include big names like AT&T, Dell and Intel.

Disable ActiveX feature in Internet Explorer browser

Secunia estimates there are more than 70 software products of about 28 software companies that use ActiveX components that are bugging online Media Technologies. Security firm has warned new problems for software vendors. Currently online Media Technologies still hasn't got any specific feedback.

Secunia hopes software vendors that use the ActiveX component to make a mistake will have a solution to protect customers, although this is a security error in the application of another third party.

" Simply because software vendors are not developers and builders of ActiveX components from the root, so it is extremely difficult to fix the problem. Only online Media Technologies can fix it completely ."

Secunia classified this security error as "extremely dangerous". However, there is no malicious code that can exploit the above security flaws distributed on the Internet.

Security firm recommends that users disable the ActiveX feature in Internet Explorer.
