70-year-old giant lobster

An American biology researcher caught a lobster weighing more than 5kg and is estimated to be 70 years old in the waters off California.

Forrest Galante caught this lobster while diving near Anacapa Island on October 6 and named it Albert Girther. This is a Pacific spiny lobster, weighing 5.4kg and about 70 years old.

"I've been doing this for 10 years and haven't seen any shrimp like Albert Girther. At first, I thought it was the largest lobster in the world, but maybe I was just excited. , I'm sure this is the largest individual ever caught on the west coast this year, " Forrest said.

Typically, this lobster species weighs more than one kilogram. Because of overfishing, it is difficult to find a large "old" lobster that is large.

According to the Telegraph, Forrest decided to release the lobster to the sea."We drop it into the marine reserve of the marine reserve off California. This place prohibits fishing activities, so the lobster can live peaceful days," Forrest said.
