A 2,000 year old lotion bottle found in England

Many netizens were excited to see the interesting inside the lotion bottle of ancient people.

In 2003, archaeologists unearthed the world's oldest lotion body in a Roman temple on the banks of the River Thames, England. According to the Telegraph, the bottle was 2,000 years old and had the fingerprints of the last person using it.

It was observed that the lotion was contained in a cylindrical tin can, which had tinted with time but the cream was still retained, almost intact due to being kept in good temperatures.

An archaeologist from the group who found the jar of cream - Gary Brown - said: "We are very surprised. Many questions have been asked about what is in the box. Perhaps it is a cosmetic like moisturizer." .

He added that no record of Roman creams exists in archaeological records. The excavation team itself does not know if it is unique, but this is a very special artifact.

In addition, the fact that the cream is imprinted with ancient fingerprints is important for archeology, helping researchers get closer to the world thousands of years ago.

Richard Evershed (University of Bristol, UK) has analyzed the substance in this vial as cream ointment, containing the fat of some animals, maybe from cattle or sheep.
