A breakthrough in cancer diagnosis and treatment

Scientists at the Australian Institute of Pediatric Research have found a blood test that not only helps early diagnosis of cancer but also helps treat some cancers.

According to scientists, this is really a breakthrough in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer in the past 30 years, especially for brain and bone cancer.

When brain cancer is found, usually patients can only live for one more year.

But recently, the Australian Institute of Pediatrics found a new way to test blood that can help diagnose these cancers early.

Dr Jeremy Henson said the new method could identify about 15% of cancers, especially bone, brain, connective tissue, breast and lung cancer. With this method, the doctor only needs to take blood samples like all normal blood tests.

The new method gives results much faster than before and researchers hope this method will help them speed up the study of new drugs to treat cancer, especially brain and bone cancer.

The New South Wales Cancer Council says this breakthrough experiment is of great importance for patients with brain cancer and bone cancer.

According to the Council Director, Dr. Andrew Penman, looking back on the treatment of cancer during the past 30 years, people have seen little progress. Particularly for brain cancer, there have been only two important medical achievements in the past 40 years. Therefore, this new method has opened up great hope in the treatment of cancer, especially for brain cancer.
