A lightning strike, 156 people lie in Rwanda

Witnesses said they saw the "body lying everywhere" , after the horror of the crowd at a church in Rwanda.

According to the Daily Star, at least 16 people were killed in the lightning strike last weekend. 14 people died immediately while 2 died at the hospital, because the wound was too heavy.

3 others are currently in critical condition. The remaining 140 people were also hospitalized for treatment.

The incident occurred at the Christian church in Nyaruguru district in Southern province (Southern) in Rwanda. The church is located in a mountainous area near the border with Burundi, where there are often many people attending the ceremony.

Mayor Habitegeko Francois confirmed the incident and said that lightning struck suddenly at the church.

140 people were hospitalized with varying degrees of vulnerability. Some people were told about hospital treatment at home by the end of the day, Mr. Francois said. ' Doctors say there are 3 people in critical condition but they are recovering day by day'.

Lightning strikes are the cause of 30 deaths, 61 injuries and 48 cattle deaths in 2016.

Another lightning strike occurred on March 9, causing a student to die, another 17 were injured. Currently, three victims are still being treated at the hospital.
