It takes up to 700kg of fresh jasmine flowers to extract approximately 1 liter of pure essential oil.

Specifically, the factory will have to work around the clock during the harvest season. Workers will sort the newly picked flowers and wait for them to bloom. ' As soon as they bloom, the jasmine will start to emit its fragrance ,' said Mr. Palaniswamy.

Late at night, when the strong scent of jasmine fills the air, workers will collect them and put them into the processing machine. The newly picked jasmine flowers will be soaked in solvents to create a special liquid, then use alcohol to remove the wax and collect the pure essential oil. It is the quintessential ingredient to create perfume.

Mr Palaniswamy said it takes 700kg of fresh jasmine flowers to extract approximately 1 litre of pure essential oil, which sells for around $4,200 (equivalent to more than 100 million VND).

When it comes to perfume production, the higher the concentration of jasmine essential oil, the higher the price of the perfume . Jasmine grows in many countries around the world, but the type that grows in India is the most popular in the fragrance industry.
