Active people find happiness easily

Norwegian scientists claim that people who regularly attend concerts, exhibitions, and dance have a higher level of health and satisfaction with life than other subjects.

Telegraph said, Koenraad Cuypers, a researcher from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology , and his colleagues followed more than 50,000 thousand Norwegians (both male and female) to understand the effects of participating in Religious, sporting and cultural events for human happiness.

They found that the majority of people regularly participate in cultural events such as art exhibitions, concerts, film shows with better health and higher levels of satisfaction with life than those of the same sex. This trend is stronger in men.

The results did not change even when the team adjusted a number of factors that could influence the subject's thinking such as age, level of exercise, smoking habits, medical history, level alcohol intake, social status, weight and height of the body.

' Our research confirms the existence of a relationship between cultural and sporting activities with mental and physical wellbeing,' the team stated.

Cuypers said that it is possible that cultural, sports and religious activities positively affect the brain and immune system. For example, cultural activities reduce stress levels, helping people enjoy better lives.

But Shigehiro Oishi, a professor of psychology at the University of Virginia in the US, pursued a completely different perspective. According to him, the more healthy and happy people are, the more they participate in activities. ' So we cannot conclude cultural activities that bring about health and well-being ', he said.
