Admire the mushroom blocks that are more expensive than gold

A precious mushroom block of Alba region (Italy), weighing 850g, has gone to an anonymous customer of Hong Kong people at a transfer price of 85,000 euros (about 2.24 billion VND), nearly 30 times the market price.

The annual auction held near Turin on November 11 saw an unusually high price for the rare white truffles but the normal price was only about 350 euros / 100g.

The spokesperson for the event admitted that the price was too expensive, but explained that this was a charity donation activity, and rarely did there be a mass of mushroom weighing nearly a kilogram, according to AFP on 12/12 11.

For ease of comparison, the price of gold at the beginning of the week was about 34,400 euros for 1 kg of gold, while the 850g mushroom sold for 85,000 euros.

Alba region's white truffles are the most sought after species, only growing in the period from September 21 to January 31 every year.

This year's harvest was especially seasoned for Italian farmers, both in quantity and quality, after the difficult crop last year.

Alba held a precious mushroom auction in the past 88 years, and this time co-organized with Hong Kong, where anonymous customers won the auction.
