America built the world's tallest solar power tower
According to a VNA correspondent in the US, the country has started construction of a 800m-high twin tower in the Arizona desert to produce electricity from solar energy.
This is the world's tallest twin tower, the first to produce solar thermal energy, without using solar power technology from panels today.
The bottom of the tower is the size of a football field, producing a green energy source on the principle of solar heating the air and being fed into the tower to replace the cold air, pushing it to the top of the tower and turning the turbine, from that creates energy.
Producing electricity from the Sun Tower will create a clean and safe energy source that can supply 150,000 households and create jobs for 1,500 people.
The tower produces electricity based on the principle of temperature difference . Accordingly, the daytime temperature is enough to continue producing electricity at night, so the tower can operate in all weather conditions with low maintenance costs, reducing 1 million tons of greenhouse gas emissions and saving more than 4.5 billion liters of water per year compared with current unsustainable power generation.
The construction of the twin towers to exploit solar power is a collaboration between Australia's EnviroMission and 3 American companies. Under the plan, the project will build at least 20 similar towers in the US in the next 20 years.
