The tallest tower in the world is forming

Burj Dubai is considered to be the tallest tower on the planet and the symbol of Dubai in the UAE is gradually shaped at a rate of 2 floors per week. This will be a miniature city with 30,000 apartments and a shopping center in the world.

Burj Dubai means that the Dubai Tower is the center of a project to build a new Dubai district worth $ 20 billion called Downtown Burj Dubai . This project was invested by Emaar Real Estate Corporation and constructed by South Korean contractor Samsung.

The project is expected to become the world's tallest building, which was started in 2004 and will be completed by the end of 2008. According to Emaar official in charge of the Burj Dubai project Greg Sang, the tower consumes about 1 billion USD.

Up to now, the tower has completed 79 floors with a height of over 200 meters. But until now, the investor Emaar still refused to reveal the final height of Burj Dubai when inaugurated.

Greg Sang opened his mouth : " We can't answer now. We can only say it will be over 700 meters tall with over 160 floors ." The tallest tower in the world at the present time is Taipei 101 in Taiwan, 508 meters high.

" We have 2,500 workers working on the tower construction. It is expected that in the next peak period this figure will exceed 5,000. When the entire Downtown Burj Dubai district project is built there will be about 20,000. Worker, "Sang added.

Earlier this year, a group of 2,500 workers went on strike for two days to protest against poor working conditions and wage arrears. Their protest turned into violence when some equipment and vehicles were smashed.

According to Greg Sang, the strike is the activity of the workers who do not work for Burj Dubai, so the progress of this tower is not affected.

Dubai is one of seven states that form the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This is also the name of the main city called Dubai City to distinguish it from the country name. Dubai has the largest population and the second largest area in the UAE just behind Abu Dhabi.

One difference between Dubai and other countries is that oil income here accounts for only 6% of GDP. The state's main source of income comes from the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZ) and from the tourism industry is growing rapidly.
