America: Vortex flattening a town

A tornado of 400k / h caused at least 7 deaths, 60 others were injured and flattened a small town in the state of Southern Kansas, USA. Red Cross officials say more than 90 percent of the Greensburg town, with a population of 1,600 people, has been destroyed, including hospitals, schools and homes.

Meteorologists predict that extreme weather will occur in the Mid-West region of the United States. Cyclone alerts have been issued in Nebraska and North Kansas. Greensburg, about 200 kilometers west of Wichita, was directly impacted by a tornado.

Armed forces have been deployed to evacuate, rescue and ensure the security of the people. However, many people are still stuck when hiding under basements. The death toll is likely to increase.

People said they heard sirens 20 minutes before the tornado happened. Therefore, they have the opportunity to take shelter. The terrible tornado ravaged the house and even the hidden places in the basement.

"You can hear the top part of the house torn apart. We crawl under the bed in the basement. We are fine, but the windows are broken ."
