America's top secret biochemical weapons testing facility

The leading complex of chemical and biological weapons testing laboratories is located in the Utah desert.

The 3,237km ² Dugway Proving Ground base is located in the Utah desert, 145km southwest of Salt Lake City, the US military's main base for testing conventional ammunition as well as chemical weapons and biology such as sarin, anthrax, VX neurotoxin, according to the International Business Times.The picture is a deadly warning sign attached to the base of the base.

This base was founded in 1942, shortly after the US entered World War II.Studies are only done for defense purposes.They did not test any weapon for attack.

The Dugway Proving Ground base has undergone many name changes, temporarily closing and running again.Photographer George Frey is licensed to visit some facilities here.

The Baseline Hazardous Materials Facility is a place to study chemical-based imaging spectra, analyze traditional and emerging chemical threats, such as homemade bombs.

The Smartman Laboratory facility allows the US military to inspect a number of life-saving devices such as gas masks to help combat a variety of harmful chemical and biological agents.The testing process takes place in a closed room.

The newly established "BRAUCH" facility is made up of interconnected containers to simulate underground environments such as caves and complex tunnel systems.This is the place to train special US military forces.

The Dugway Proving Ground has generated many problems in its 75-year history.In March 1968, about 6,400 sheep died outside the boundary of the test site.The reason is that they are infected with deadly nerve toxins VX.In 2011, a small amount of similar substances went missing but was eventually found.

In 2015, the base zone mistakenly sent live spores of anthrax bacteria to 192 laboratories in the US and some other countries including the United Kingdom.Samples were then destroyed according to the appropriate method.
