With increasing demand for medical examination and testing, Bach Mai Hospital has just put into operation a system of Modular Analytics biochemical testing machines worth USD 420,000 that can perform 170 different tests.

This test system will improve the accuracy and safety of tests, minimizing previous tasks that must be done manually.

With this system, BV can perform 170 types of tests , from the most common tests to high-tech tests on a single sample. Previously, to test different samples, BV had to be divided into many times with many different stages.

This is a modern technology, helping the Biochemistry Department, Bach Mai Hospital initially perform automation and is the basis for further building a complete labo information management network later. The system of testing machines is modern and complete with intelligent operation process, combining flexibility and high efficiency with the ability to automatically run again and automatically support the additional tests under programming.

In particular, the prices of tests performed on this modern testing system still follow the level set by the Ministry of Health.

According to Dr. Bui Thanh Chi, Deputy Director of Bach Mai Hospital, there are about 5,000 patients going to Bach Mai Hospital for medical examination and treatment per day, which requires very high tests. In 2005, the number of biochemical tests was 2.2 million, and in 2006, it is expected to increase to 2.6 million tests.
