Can successfully prepare biodiesel fuel (BDF) by simple chemical method without using any foreign technology, Mr. Pham Van Duc (26 years) confident: "If produced The market is cheaper than current diesel. '
Diesel oil is a popular fuel used in internal combustion engines to operate machinery, ships and vehicles. Diesel currently circulating on the market is made up of petroleum. Gas emissions when burning diesel oil is one of the culprits causing environmental pollution. Therefore, many countries have been studying to find more environmentally friendly fuels.

BDF is not new because since the 1970s, the world has studied BDF production to replace petroleum diesel. Vietnam also has many BDF production research projects that are invested but mostly research to apply foreign technology, such as BDF modulation technology with Japanese ultrasound. And the low cost BDF production is a "headache" problem for scientists.
In that general context, it is quite interesting that a student also dared to register to participate in the " racetrack " of the BDF production - production technologies! That is Pham Van Duc, a student at Hanoi University of Mining and Geology. From a small incident, Mr. Duc chose the topic of BDF modulation as a graduation thesis (in 2006). When choosing a topic, his tutor asked: "Will you be confident enough to find a better method for modulating BDF?" .
Pham Van Duc experienced a lot of hardship in his time: every day he walked about 12 km and fell asleep on the bus to go to school, tutoring or wandering in the old book street of Lang Street (Hanoi). Then, once, Germany suddenly asked himself: " Why do people not merely use chemical reactions to prepare BDF but need the help of modern devices to transfer substances? faster? " and he worked hard to answer that question himself. Finally, Germany found a liquid catalyst that met the rapid metabolic requirements that he " revealed": "This mixture is made from" low-cost "chemicals but can" invite "glycerin. out of fatty acids in waste vegetable oil, accompanied by precipitating soap leaving precious BDF layer, clear floating above . ".
Through many opportunities, Germany had the introduction of Prof. Dr. Nguyen Lan Dung and was invested by the investment company - Tam Sinh Nghia (Ho Chi Minh City) to help him study more. For large-scale production, Germany also plans to procure waste cooking oil from restaurants and food factories . He even thinks of creating a network to buy waste cooking oil. throughout the city for about 3,000 VND / liter through bottle collectors, crushers.
Asking Germany to know the secret of success, he thought for a while and said: "Perhaps it is because of the . destructive nature. From the hyperactive child, Germany or tinkering with the devices in the house. Germany has a time of no-cost accommodation because of the extra job . fixing computers for the landlord ". That greedy nature formed German research perspective: "The knowledge around us is immense, so when you learn something, Germany likes to start with the question" Why is that? " rather than diligently learning all from the beginning ".
