Animals on Earth behave like alien creatures

Newly discovered bees have the ability to lay eggs on the prey, alter prey behavior and neutralize immunity.

According to the Daily Star, newly discovered bees named Dolichogenidea xenomorph lay eggs on the host's body. The children grow up to eat host meat and grow into adult bees.

Bees know how to control prey action like alien creatures.

They are called xenomorph like alien creatures in a Hollywood blockbuster because of a similar approach to hunting.

Researcher Erinn Fagan-Jeffries from the University of Adelaide, Australia, said the newly discovered bees particularly favored caterpillars.

Dolichogenidea xenomorph is a new species he found in Australia.

'They lay eggs on the caterpillar still alive. The bee larva eats the host itself to grow up, ' Fagan-Jeffries said.

When growing to a certain extent, bee larvae will separate from caterpillars and make cocoons to become adult bees.

The amazing thing is that in addition to egg laying, Dolichogenidea xenomorph injects a virus into the caterpillar, neutralizing the immune system to ensure that the eggs will survive.

'The virus also alters the behavior of caterpillars, changing the amount of food it consumes daily to match the growing bee larvae'.

According to Fagan-Jeffries, Dolichogenidea xenomorph really reminds people of alien xenomorph in the Hollywood movie because of its all-black appearance.

Dolichogenidea xenomorph and other parasitic bees play an important role in controlling the number of insects.

There are bees that only lay one egg, which breeds hundreds of eggs on the caterpillar's body. This helps reduce the number of caterpillars because otherwise, they will eat all the plants on Earth.

New bees are found in Queanbeya, New South Wales, Western Australia.
