pd.id is a small, battery-operated device that, when dipped in drinking water, can immediately detect the presence of sexually transmitted drugs.
According to Sky News, the device uses technology that has been used by agencies such as the US Bureau of Narcotics to determine the presence of dangerous drugs inside beverages.
If abnormalities are detected, the red light on the device will light up and the connected smartphone will immediately display the drug that was brewed in the drinking water.
Upon reaching the user's hands, pd.id has been pre-loaded with repetitive drug lists commonly used by criminals.
The amount of money raised through the Indiegogo site raised more than $ 500,000, five times more than originally planned by developer David Wilson, founder of the Ontario-based startup.
