"We informed our guests that one of our monkeys was particularly excited about communicating with people," said zoo spokesman Ilse Segers. "Animals live with people from a young age so now we are trying to integrate it with the more homogeneous world."

She said if Cheetah kept on interacting with humans, it would make it difficult for her to interact with other animals in the group.

A sign is attached outside the area of the animal asking viewers not to look at the animal's face."Look away when the animal wants to talk to you, or step back. Some animals are more interested in visitors than their kind , " the sign says.

Segers said the zoo does not necessarily prohibit visitors from seeing chimpanzees completely."Of course it's okay to touch each other. We have more than 1 million visitors a year and of course they are always welcome to visit animals."

Antwerp Zoo 164 years old is one of the oldest zoos in Europe and attracts more than 1.3 million visitors a year.
